This page explains what happens to your information when you buy How to Pay Less at Hotels. It is short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Your email address and name, so we can deliver the guide and answer you if something goes wrong.
- Your order record: what you bought, when, and the amount.
- Basic technical data your browser sends to any website, such as your approximate location and device type.
What we never see
Your card details. Payment is handled by Whop, our payment provider. You enter your card on Whop's own secure form, embedded in our checkout page. Your card number never reaches us and we cannot store it. Whop keeps its own record of the transaction under its own privacy policy.
What we do with it
We use your email address to send you the guide, your receipt, and any correction or update to the guide itself. If you agree to it separately, we may also send you related travel material. You can stop that at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, and it will never affect your access to what you bought.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing.
Who else handles your data
These are the third parties involved, by name, and what each one does:
- Whop takes your payment, holds your card details, sends your receipt and sends the message containing your download link. Whop is the only party that sees your card.
- Google Drive stores the guide file itself. Your download link points there. Downloading it does not require a Google account and does not tell us who you are.
- Netlify hosts this website and serves these pages to your browser.
- Microsoft Clarity records how the pages are used, so we can see where the site is confusing and fix it: where people scroll, what they tap, and where they get stuck. Anything you type is hidden from the recording, and it cannot see inside the payment form, which belongs to Whop.
Each is used only to run this service, and only with what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Your email address is kept until you ask us to delete it, or you unsubscribe and have no open order.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to ask.melanie.mcqueen@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies, and what the checkout page loads
We measure how this site is used, so we can see what works and fix what does not. That measurement records the page you opened, roughly where you arrived from, your screen size, how far you scrolled, which buttons you clicked, and how you moved around the page. It is about how the page is used, not about who you are, and there is no advertising pixel on the sales page.
For this we may use cookies or similar browser storage, and we may use measurement tools provided by other companies. We do not use any of it to advertise to you, we do not build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell it.
The checkout page is different, and you should know why. Payment is taken through a form that Whop places inside that page. Opening it sets cookies from Whop and from the services Whop relies on. Some are needed to take a payment at all: the card processor, the fraud check, and bot protection. Others belong to Whop's own analytics and advertising partners, among them Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat and HubSpot.
Those cookies are set by Whop, not by us. We never receive them, we cannot read them, and we do not use them for anything. Whop does not currently offer a setting that turns them off, so the honest thing we can do is tell you they are there. If you would rather not have them, your browser's third-party cookie controls will block most of them.
We do not run any advertising of our own, and we do not build an advertising profile of you.
Children
This product is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
